Utilizing his 60+ years of experience and dedicated study of Vaquero horsemanship, Mike passes on this knowledge through his clinics, videos and book. The clinics, held in the U.S. and internationally, provide students with both lecture and hands-on instruction in Groundwork, Hackamore, In-Hand Work, Cow Work and Refinement. All dates, locations and details are available here on his Calendar.
Mikes philosophy and teaching style encourages long-term participation by his students. Students who take their horsemanship goals very seriously and are wiling to make the time commitment will find tremendous benefit from Mike’s program. It takes many years to develop the gymnastic strength in the horse, and knowledge on the part of the horse and rider to develop a horse that can carry them “straight up in the bridle”. In this tradition, our horses are started on the ground, and advance to exercises in the hackamore, two rein, and eventually the bridle. Work is done inside the arena, and for many, work and development is often done on the lands we ride. Often, students will begin the journey with Mike Bridges by participating or auditing a clinic.
The most popular clinics are groundwork, hackamore, and seeking refinement. Participation in a public clinic will help you determine if this riding style and the time required to master these skills is an investment that you want to make.
